Celestial Ministries School of Fine Arts: Living the dream through the arts

VISION

To provide every child in the North Lawndale community, especially those with incarcerated loved ones, with the opportunity to realize their God-given potential, to explore their gifts and artistic talents, to grow in confidence and creativity, to develop discipline and love of learning, and to produce godly character in order to become leaders that inspire hope and change in the community and world.  

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of Celestial Ministries to rise up young leaders by using music and the arts to inspire and mentor the children of the incarcerated and others that are in the North Lawndale Community.

PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY

Celestial Ministries helps children fulfill their God-given potential by addressing the holistic needs of students in a relational way. To reach their full potential, children need their physical, mental, social, spiritual, and emotional needs met. Celestial Ministries offers many opportunities for children in each of these areas. 

Celestial Ministries utilizes a team approach to education. The African proverb says it well, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Our staff and volunteers see themselves as an extended family of love and support.  

Celestial Ministries believes in a hands-on approach to music instruction. We believe children learn best by doing. 

Celestial Ministries believes in raising up local leaders and providing opportunities for students to take on leadership responsibilities.
